How to Treat Teething Symptoms in Your Baby
Teething troubles are a part of a baby growing up. It is when the baby has the first set of teeth coming out. For some babies it can be quite a traumatic experience. Other babies might go through teething without any troubles or with little discomfort.

As parents, we have no way of telling whether our baby will experience discomfort or not. We have to be prepared for the baby’s teething and recognize the symptoms of teething troubles. The first thing we should do is to be aware of the symptoms.

Is the baby crying at night? Is the baby dribbling excessively and sucking its thumb? Are the baby’s gums swollen or red colored? If the answer to one or more of these questions is yes, they your baby may be suffering from teething.

There are a few things that you can do to reduce your baby’s discomfort. Wash our hands thoroughly and massage the baby’s gums very gently. Take a small cloth, soak it in apple juice and put it in the freezer. After the apple juice has frozen, soak the baby’s gums with the cloth. It will help to reduce the pain.

Feed your baby a little bit of cold ice cream or let her suckle on a popsicle.

If these methods do not work then you can start with a little Tylenol or just about any other paracetamol based medicine. If Tylenol does not work then you can consult a pediatrician who might prescribe a medicine containing Ibuprofen in strength suitable for babies.

There are certain things that will not work and you should not do. Do not be tempted by your friends who might say that a dab or touch of whisky will remove the pain and calm the baby. That I certainly no solution and whisky or any other potent alcohol is not good for your baby.

Teething is a difficult time for the baby. As a parent, you have a responsibility to comfort the baby and take her to a pediatrician in case other home based remedies do not work.
