Teething Puppies
If you have a puppy then you should be prepared for the puppy’s teething. The teething phase involves growth of the teeth and can be very painful for the puppy. The pup happens to chew on almost everything and anything in sight. As a result, puppies might do a lot of damage since they will bite and chew on shoes, furniture, wires and moldings.

It is a very good idea to be prepared for the puppy’s teething phase and make sure that the damage that the puppy does is minimal. The first precaution that you should take is to make sure that all electrical points, connections and wires are well out of the each of the puppy. The wires should be taped to the walls and should be inaccessible to the puppy.

Make sure that there are no small objects such as pencils, pens, children’s toys, erasers or paper clips lying around on the floor. A puppy may accidentally ingest any such object by mistake and the consequences can be fatal. You should keep your belongings such as books, shoes and slippers away from the reach of the puppy.

You cannot make a pup stop chewing things. The next best thing you can do is to get it a variety of chew toys that will distract its attention. There are a number of chewable snacks that can be given to your puppy that will provide it nutrition.

If you have to leave the puppy unattended in the house, then do not forget to crate the puppy. It is for the puppy’s welfare: as well as your own.

Your puppy can also become infected if its chew toys are not clean. Make sure that you clean the chew toys regularly. Looking after a puppy can be a difficult but a very rewarding experience.
