How it works?

The working of a conventional kind of dental insurance is quite similar to that of a direct reimbursement plan. Both traditional dental insurance and a direct reimbursement are similar in the sense that both make place for a yearly allowance. This implies that only a part of your dental work is paid for each year. Usually the annual allowance for your dental work under this plan varies from $1,000 to 1,500.

If your teeth are insured under a direct reimbursement plan, then 100% of the first $100 that you spend on dental services shall be covered. This goes down to 80% of the next $500 and 50% of the next $1000. This is the default pattern of most direct reimbursement plans.
