My Zoom Whitening Experience!
Here is a little story about my experience with Zoom, a whitening product for my teeth. This product works faster than the white strips or the white gel that you may apply before you go to sleep.

I first came across it when I visited one of the dentists in my town. It was a regular checkup where the dentist was cleaning the residue and plaque that can be reduced only with professional cleaning.

The dentist put a rubber like thing in my mouth to protect my gums from the gel that is use to clean the teeth. They also stuck an instrument in my mouth to protect my self in case I inadvertently closed my mouth.

After this cotton balls were rolled into my mouth to hold the lips off the teeth. The dentist only wants the teeth to be exposed so that they can be whitened. They look as if they are hanging in the air. After this the dentist applies the gel which is based on hydrogen peroxide. All the teeth's are painted with this gel. After this is done, zoom light is used to break down the discoloration and stains.

This  process was repeated three times for fifteen minutes each. The entire process took little over an hour.  I was even able to take a nap in between.

The dentist also gave me some serious explanations about what should I do after this whitening process.

First he told me that for at least 12 to 18 hours I should avoid products such as  coffee, cigarettes, coke, or tea as these can stain my teeth. He told me that if I was addicted to caffeine addict, then I might as well take an Excedrin migraine pill for the 18 hour period. This migraine pill  contains a fair amount of caffeine.

The whole process put me in a very difficult position as I could not open my mouth properly for at least the next 20 hours. The whole gel thing gets into every corner of your teeth from the enamel to the pores of the teeth. But after around 1 day your teeth look fresh and of course very white. This healing process takes 2 to 3 days in some cases. I was relieved that in my case it was over within just 1 day.

So this was my experience with the Zoom whitening treatment. For people who do not have much time, this procedure can be carried out at home. At home you will miss the zoom light. The entire procedure set me back by around $250 but it may vary.

Considering the end results that I got, I felt that the cost was worth it. I was able to go home with a brighter smile than I had before.
