Cosmetic dental surgery has changed the world of dentistry. And if I am correct, from oral implants to the commonplace denture, from dental bridges to align, reshape and repair teeth couldn't have been better. The bridge for instance is the process of fixing a custom-made teeth into the gap left by the past teeth and to support it with crowns, thereby bridging the weak teeth together with the stronger ones and in turn, imparting strength to it. Let me give a little bit of information about the surgical procedures involved in the operation of the dental bridge.

First, the area of abutment teeth will be prepared on either side of the affected teeth, in order to accommodate the crowns. This will be done with a mild dose of local anesthesia and with a bit of scaling and fillings, as per the requirement. An impression of the original bridge is prepared and inserted into the area of operation, while the original is being prepared. The doctor might also take help of a Flipper or false tooth, and insert it in place of the mock bridge. The Flipper may be attached with the help of a piece of plastic or wire on the roof of your mouth.

When you arrive a few days later for the final operation, the temporary bridge or the Flipper will be removed and replaced with the original or the permanent bridge. After the installation, the new bridge will be verified for any loose fittings and bite discrepancies, after which your new bridge will be allowed to alginate to your teeth.
