Maintain Your Dog’s Dental Hygiene with Regular Teeth Brushing
Dental disease is one of the most common of diseases in pets. It is also supposed to be one of the most treatable and preventable of diseases. There are few points which need to be considered such as feeding them a crunchy diet, daily tooth brushing, and appropriate chew treats and toys. The healthy diet includes uncooked meat and bones, vegetables and a little amount of fruit. This perfect ratio of diet will always keep your dog fit and healthy by preventing them against all possible dental diseases.

If you are feeding a balanced diet to your dog, the need for brushing your dog’s teeth will be reduced. But there are a large number of people who brush their dog’s teeth every day and find it the best solution for keeping them healthy. When it comes to brushing your  dog’s teeth, you should follow the following steps.

The first step is to start with a healthy and clean mouth. For this purpose, you will need veterinary toothpaste and a soft-bristled tooth brush. Never try to use baking soda and human toothpastes to brush your dog’s teeth. Furthermore, there are many flavors of veterinary toothpastes available in the market today that appeal to dogs. While a bristled tooth brush not only cleans the dog’s teeth, it also gently massages the gums.

You should be very careful while brushing your dog’s teeth because there are some important facts about your pets’ mouths. You should know  when, where and how to brush the dog’s teeth.

The upper and back teeth are the first places that are affected by periodontal disease.  Plaque is generally deposited on the tooth surface just under the gum line. Within 36 hours this plaque converts into hardens into a mineralized form called tartar that can not be removed easily with a brush.

That’s why every one who has a dog needs to brush his/her dog’s teeth daily to get rid of the plaque gathered under the gum line.

While taking third step, always remember that the each and every teeth of dog should be brushed with paste. Mostly dogs are willing to have their teeth brushed if you are gentle and start when they are young.  With the help of a washcloth or piece of gauze you can wipe the teeth of dog with soft hand and can go ahead to brush the  teeth using the toothbrush. You should do this twice a day for nearly 2 weeks and after that your dog will become used to it.

Therefore, if you want to keep your dog’s dental disease free, follow these steps regularly. You will find a tremendous change in the dog’s health and overall disposition.
